Description
Oakleigh and Oakleigh Cottage is a house and cottage built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick with a hipped Welsh slate roof and features two brick stacks on the right and rear. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range, with a central 6/6 sash window flanked by two 8/8 sash windows, all set under segmental arches with stucco architraves.
The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with an overlight and sidelights, situated in a stucco porch that has an entablature and parapet supported by square columns. This entrance is flanked by additional 6/6 sash windows, and there is a stucco storey band and pilasters above. On the left side, there is a central blocked opening flanked by 6/6 sashes. A tripartite window with a 2/2, 6/6, and 2/2 sash configuration is present, along with a blocked opening that is partly obscured by a late 19th or early 20th-century canted bay. This bay is made of rusticated stucco with a modillioned cornice and contains three plain sashes. The rear of the building has various sashes, some with louvred surrounds.
The former service wing to the north is now partly Oakleigh Cottage and is three storeys tall with a hipped Welsh slate roof. It has a brick ridge stack and a 20th-century stack. The west front features three 3/3 sashes under yellow brick segmental arches, with additional 3/3 sashes above. The central entrance has a four-panel door beneath a simple hood, flanked by 20th-century flat-roofed bays with metal casements. The south front has similar sashes.
