Description
Rose Dene and Rose Dene Cottage is a house and cottage dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with some limestone-ashlar dressings, and features a brick and Welsh-slate roof with brick stacks. The structure consists of a two-unit and a single-unit plan linked by an archway. It stands two storeys high and has a four-window front, with 12-pane sash windows. There is a depressed-arched vehicle entry in the second bay, the doorway to Rose Dene situated between the third and fourth bays, and the doorway to Rose Dene Cottage located to the right of the first bay, both featuring six-panel doors with overlights. The windows and doorways have flat arches, all adorned with rusticated ashlar voussoirs, as does the archway. The shallow-pitched roof has three stacks, and the rear of the building is partly brick. The interior has not been inspected. This property is included for its group value.
