Description

Grove Lodge is an early 18th-century house located on the west side of High Street, Deddington. The house is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with a Stonesfield-slate roof and brick stacks. It has a layout in the shape of an 'L'. The two-storey main block has an attic and a three-window front. The entrance is located to the right of centre and features a six-panel door under a rectangular overlight. Flanking the door are three-light windows, and at the first floor, two-light windows are more closely spaced. All windows have 18th or early 19th-century casements under flat arches. The steeply pitched roof has a stack to the left and a parapet to the right gable, featuring projecting moulded kneelers and a leaded casement. A similar gable to the rear has a further stack and rises above a lower rear wing that returns to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
