Description
This lych gate, located about 90 yards south-south-east of the Church of St George, is likely from the 17th century and was restored in the late 19th to early 20th century. It features sandstone side plinths and a timber frame with a stone slate roof, consisting of one bay aligned north to south. The south elevation has corner posts with restored pegged angle struts connected to a tie-beam, from which scissor-braces support the principal rafters. The gates, likely from the 18th century, have contemporary hinges, a plate, and a handle. The side walls are made of posts and panels, probably dating from around 1900. The matching rear truss to the north is only slightly restored, although the inner gates beneath are likely from the 20th century.
