Description
The lychgate, located southwest of the Church of St George, dates from the late 19th century and is constructed from reused roof members of the church, likely during its restoration in 1881. This timber-frame structure features three posts with arch-braced tie-beams that support a slate roof, which has slate-hung gable ends. Three of the braces exhibit cyma-mouldings and are likely sourced from the nave or chancel roofs, although one brace is missing. The three posts have brackets at their bases and there are two gateways between them, each fitted with pivoting timber panel gates; the eastern gateway is wider than the other.
