Description

Lyndhurst is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, coated with a stucco finish and featuring blocked-out detailing. The roof is of asbestos slate, with overhanging eaves and rendered stacks positioned on either side; the right-hand stack has turned clay pots, while the left-hand stack has louvred pots. The house likely follows a double-depth plan, incorporating two principal front rooms, a central entrance hall, and two shallow service rooms at the rear. The front facade is symmetrical with three windows on each floor. All windows are original 19th-century sash windows, with margin panes and small horns. The central doorway has an original moulded four-panel door, with flush bottom panels, a simple rectangular overlight, and a modified 20th-century canopy. The rear elevation was not inspected. The interior of the house has not been inspected but may retain original features and joinery.
