Description

This lych gate, located about 20 yards west of the Church of St Peter, is possibly from the 15th or 16th century, though it may have been created in the 19th century using salvaged timbers and restored in the late 19th century. It features a timber frame and a slate roof. The structure has two unequal bays, one for cortege vehicles and the other for pedestrians. These bays are separated by a stop-chamfered post that supports a longitudinal beam and cantilevered cross beams with arch braces. The end posts are restorations.
