Description

Gourmets Corner (number 25) and Kington Book Shop (number 26) are a house, now shops and a dwelling, dating from the 18th century. The building is rendered with stucco and has a Welsh slate roof. It is three storeys high and has a two-window front. The windows are late 19th-century 2/2 sash windows within broad beaded casings, with a storeyband detail. The right-hand side has an early 20th-century shopfront with a central part-glazed panelled door, flanked by windows with moulded glazing bars, all under a moulded wooden hood. To the left is a 20th-century shopfront incorporating a recessed part-glazed panelled door and a plate-glass window, with coloured leaded clerestory lights above. The rear of the building features 3/3 sash windows. A two-storey wing is visible, featuring a rubble end stack with a brick chimney.
