Description
30 and 31 High Street are shops and dwellings dating from the late 18th century. The buildings are constructed of painted brick and feature a shallow-pitched Welsh slate roof with brick end stacks at both the front and rear. They rise three storeys and have a four-window range, with 6/6 sash windows (two of which are 19th century) beneath deep gauged brick flat arches, and 3/6 sashes above. The front includes two early 20th-century shopfronts: the left one has central folding glazed doors and sash windows, with a canted fascia-board and hood above; the right shopfront features central glazed double-doors with an overlight, flanked by plate-glass windows with curved returns, and a simple hood and fascia-board above. At the rear, there are various sashes in broad cases under stone flat arches.
