Description
29 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and features a stucco exterior over stone, with a slate roof and a brick stack at one end. The building stands four storeys high and has a two-window range, with 10/10 sashes and 6/6 and 3/3 sashes above. There is a decorative band at the eaves.
The central entrance consists of an early 20th-century half-glazed door set in a simple case, topped with a wooden flat hood supported by pilasters. To the right of the entrance is an early 20th-century canted bay window with three 6/6 sashes, and to the left is a square-headed passage leading to the rear of the building.
On the right side, there are three early 20th-century 6/6 sashes in broad cases, along with a 20th-century entrance featuring sidelights, all set under stone flat arches. There is a blocked opening beneath a stone segmental arch, and the passage to the rear has a stop-chamfered ceiling beam.
At the rear, the building is tile-hung with various 20th-century 3/3 sashes. There is also a rubble wing with a stone-slate roof.
