Description
No. 36 High Street is a shop and dwelling dating from the early 17th century. The building features a roughcast exterior, coursed rubble, and timber-frame construction with plaster, topped by a Welsh slate roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a single-window range. The window is a 20th-century two-over-two sash set in a broad case, with a small light above that has glazing bars and an arched head within a simple architrave, all beneath a wood modillioned gable. The shopfront, also from the 20th century, includes a half-glazed panelled door. On the left side, the building reveals exposed 17th-century box-framing. At the rear, there is a wing featuring late 17th to early 18th-century box-framing with brick infill.
