Description
No. 32 High Street is a building that combines shops and dwellings, featuring a late 18th-century front attached to an earlier core. The exterior is roughcast with a hipped Welsh slate roof and a brick stack on the right front. The building has three storeys and a two-window range, with 6/6 sash windows in moulded cases on the first and second floors, and a moulded wood eaves.
On the left side, there is a 19th-century shopfront with glazed double doors, which are recessed between windows that have moulded glazing-shafts and glazing-bars. There is also an entrance to a passage at the rear, which includes a plain overlight. To the right, a 19th-century bow window features moulded glazing-bars, along with a moulded fascia-board and hood supported by enriched scrolled consoles.
Inside the passage to the rear, there are exposed wall plates and ceiling beams that may date back to the 17th century, along with 18th and 19th-century stick-framing and brick infill.
