Description

This is a 17th-century house, located in Aymestrey, near Mortimer’s Cross. It is a timber-frame structure with rendered infill panels and a slate roof. The house is two bays wide, aligned north to south, and features an external stack on the south gable. It has one storey with a gable-lit attic. The front elevation has two fixed casement windows and an entrance in the right-hand corner, sheltered by a lean-to tiled canopy with a half-glazed door. The timber framing consists of three square panels in height, and the north gable truss incorporates cross-framing that forms decorative lozenges. Internally, the ceilings display exposed chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. The house underwent alterations in the mid-20th century.
