Description
Mill Stream Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations from the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with rendered infill sitting on a coursed rubble plinth, topped by a tile roof. The building consists of three framed bays oriented north to south, with a stack located on the south side of the central bay. The west front has one storey with an attic, which is illuminated by four dormers; three of these are gabled, while the one to the left of centre has a lean-to roof. On the ground floor, there are three 2-light casement windows. The entrance, positioned to the left of centre, has a plain wooden architrave and a ledged and boarded door. The framing includes a jettied north gable that is close-studded with a mid-rail, supported by curved brackets. The side wall frames consist of four square panels high, and the gable-end truss features a king-post and raking struts.
