Description
Riverside Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and some in the mid-20th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill between the timbers, set on a painted rubble plinth, and has a tile roof. The house was originally two bays wide, aligned north/south, and has been extended to the south with a brick addition and gable-end stacks constructed of rubble with brick shafts. The west front has two storeys, with two 2-light casement windows above three windows. A 3-light casement window is located to the right, with the other two windows being 2-light casements, all featuring plank weatherings. The ledged and boarded entrance door is situated to the left of the centre of the west front, sheltered by a 20th-century gabled tiled porch with trellis sides. The timber framing consists of three square panels in height, with a raised panel added in the 19th century.
