Description

The Latchetts is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and mid-20th century. It is timber-framed, with painted brick and rendered infill panels between the timbers, set on a rendered rubble plinth. The roof is thatched. The house has three framed bays aligned north to south, and a lateral stack of painted rubble with a brick shaft is located at the south-west corner. The west front is of one storey with an attic, which is lit by a central dormer, and a two-light casement window to the left, positioned under raised eaves. On the ground floor, there are three two-light casement windows with plank weatherings. A lean-to boarded canopy shelters the central entrance, which has a ledged and boarded door. The timber framing is arranged in three square panels high; the northern bay is raised by one square panel. The gable-end trusses have two struts to the collar.
