Description
Ruscote is a house dating from the early 17th century, with extensions added in the late 17th century, along with some alterations from the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick and rendered infill, set on a coursed rubble plinth, topped by a thatched roof. The house consists of three framed bays that run north to south. At the rear, there is a lateral stack made of rubble. The west front has one storey with an attic, which is illuminated by three dormers and a two-light casement window under the eaves on the left. Below, there are four windows, mostly two-light casements. The central entrance is framed with a wooden architrave and features a 17th-century boarded door with strap hinges. There is an additional entrance at the left-hand corner. The framing includes three rectangular panels that are high. The north gable truss has two struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex, while the south gable truss has diagonal framing.
