Description

Pool Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill between the timbers, standing on a painted rubble plinth. The roof is slate-covered. The house has two framed bays running north/south. The north gable is of painted rubble and features an external chimney stack with a painted brick shaft. The west-facing front is single-storied with an attic, the attic being lit by a two-light casement window within a gable on the left. On the ground floor, a two-light casement window is positioned to the left, with a planked weatherboard. The entrance is on the right, sheltered by a porch with a gabled roof covered in corrugated iron, and a ledged and boarded door. The timber frame is structured with three square panels in height. The right-hand gable displays three struts to the collar, V-struts in the apex, and trenched purlins.
