Description

The White House is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and late 19th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill, largely roughcast, and has a slate roof. The building has two framed bays aligned north-west/south-east, with a central stack that is rendered and features three diamond-plan shafts. The north-east front has two storeys and two windows. The ground floor has a pair of narrow plate glass sashes to the left and a four-pane sash to the right. The entrance, on the left, has a flat canopy supported by metal brackets and a 20th-century panelled door. The north-west gable is jettied and features a moulded bressummer supported on scroll brackets; the framing is visible only on the ground floor and consists of two square panels.
