Description

Maybury House is a timber-frame house with painted brick infill, dating to the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and the mid-20th century. It sits on a rubble plinth and has a tile roof. The house is arranged in an L-shape, with sections extending to the south and east, and a central stack in the south range. The west front features a gabled cross-wing to the left. The front has two storeys with a one-window section and a two-window section, with a 2-light casement to the left and two 3-light casements. The ground floor windows are similarly arranged, and a ledged and boarded door is located to the right of the cross-wing. A rubble stack projects through the wall to the right and is covered in tiles, with a plank weathering detail at the top. The framing of the cross-wing has a shallow jetty supported by simple scroll brackets. The walls are four square panels high. The south gable truss has three struts to the collar, and trenched purlins.
