Description

Luston Court, along with Luston Court Cottage and Granary Cottage, is a house that has been divided into three separate dwellings. The main structure dates back to the early 17th century, with significant alterations made in the late 17th century and an extension built in the early 19th century.

The building is timber-framed with rendered infill, set on a base of coursed rubble, and has slate and tile roofs. The original layout consisted of three framed bays running east to west. A parallel range was added behind in the 19th century, and Luston Cottage is situated in a lower framed bay to the east of the original 17th-century block. There are gable-end brick stacks, one on the west gable of the 17th-century part and another on the south-east corner.

The south front displays two storeys with a gable-lit attic to the main range, featuring three windows. The upper floor has two two-light casement windows and a single-light casement to the right. The ground floor has two three-light casement windows flanking a central entrance, which incorporates a gabled and tiled porch and a ledged and boarded door. Luston Cottage to the right is a single-storey building with an attic containing two gabled dormers. It has a four-light casement window and an entrance to the left. A fragment of the original framing remains, showing one square panel within a three-square panel frame, which has been raised by a further two square panels.
