Description

1-3 South View Cottages is a house, now divided into three cottages, dating to the 17th century with later additions and alterations. The building is timber-framed with painted brick infill, rubblestone and brick-clad gable ends, and a plain tile roof. Originally appearing to be of four framed bays, the timber framing shows square and rectangular panels, four from cill to wall-plate, with a short tension brace to the right-hand corner. The ground floor has three 20th-century casement windows to the left, right, and centre, along with one late 19th-century three-light casement window at eaves in the middle. There are one roughly central and two outer doors. Two brown brick ridge stacks are located to the left and right of the centre of the building.
