Description

Dovecote House, formerly known as New House, is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from around 1830 to 1840. The building is constructed of red brick with a slate roof, characterised by wide eaves and end stacks. It has two storeys and a three-window front. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with 16 panes on the ground floor; they have plastered heads and stone sills. The central entrance features a six-panel door, with the upper four panels glazed, set within a plain pedimented doorcase. This doorcase is topped with a semi-circular fanlight and accompanied by a wrought iron trellised porch.
