Description

Lugg Bridge is a bridge built in 1771, which was widened in 1938. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. The bridge features three arches, with two arches on the west side over the River Lugg and one on the east side over a mill race. The north face of the bridge dates from 1771, while the south face was completed in 1938. The north face includes cutwaters between the arches, with each end returning in a similar style. There is a plain band just above the segmental, almost semi-circular arches that connects the keystones. The parapet has a simple stone coping that is shaped in a segmental section.
