Description

Rose Bank Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is timber-frame construction with painted brick and rendered infill, set on a rubble plinth, and has a concrete tile roof. The three bays are aligned north/south, featuring a rear (east) wall stack. The cottage has one storey and an attic, with two gabled dormers providing light to the attic space. On the ground floor, there are two two-light casement windows and an entrance to the left-hand corner, sheltered by a gabled tiled canopy with a ledged and boarded door. A further entrance is located on the south gable end. The timber framing is arranged in four square panels. The gable-end truss displays four struts to the collar. Inside, there are exposed chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
