Description
No. 18 Bridge Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features a stucco exterior over an ashlar plinth and has a hipped roof made of hand-cut slate, with yellow brick stacks at each end. The building has two storeys and a cellar, with a three-window range. The central window is a 6/6 sash, flanked by tripartite windows that consist of 2/2, 6/6, and 2/2 sashes, all set in moulded cases. The entrance is located to the left and includes a late 19th-century door with six moulded panels and a porch that has side-lights. There is a central 8/8 sash window with leaded lights, framed by a moulded stucco architrave, and a square bay window above which features sashes and a wood balustrade. The left side of the building is also stuccoed and contains various sashes, including a canted bay with a coved underhang. There is a rear wing that has roughcast over rubble. The right side is similarly finished in stucco. Inside, there is a 19th-century dogleg staircase with stick balusters leading to the rear wing.
