Description

This property comprises a house with an 18th-century facade built onto a 17th-century or earlier core. The building is constructed of brick with roughcast to the first floor. It features a steep-pitched slate roof with a central gable and a stack to the rear. The house has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, and originally had a two-window front. Early 20th-century paired 4/4 sash windows are present, along with a restored mullion light with casements, leaded lights, and some old glass in the gable. A moulded eaves detail is also present. The central entrance has an early 20th-century half-glazed panelled door, and flanking this are early 20th-century paired 6/6 sashes to the right and a single 6/6 sash to the left. The right-hand returned side shows roughcast over coursed rubble, with visible large purlins. The left-hand returned side presents roughcast over beaded weatherboarding, with two restored lattice-leaded casements and a 19th-century lattice-leaded metal casement in a moulded case. A rear wing, numbered 17A, is constructed of roughcast over stone rubble plinth and includes two 19th-century 6/6 sashes. The interior includes a winder staircase, 17th-century two-panel doors and panelling, jowelled posts, exposed timber-framing, and corner fireplaces.
