Description
The Talbot Hotel is an inn that has been converted into a hotel, featuring a 19th-century front and alterations to its 17th-century core. The building is constructed from painted coursed stone rubble and has a Welsh slate roof with a brick party stack. It stands two storeys tall, with an attic and cellar, and has a single-window range. The late 19th-century shallow bay on the upper floor contains three 2/2 sash windows in an altered opening, while a similar bay is found on the ground floor. The entrance is located to the left and features a 20th-century door beneath a 19th-century flat hood. The late 19th-century canted bay below has a combination of 1/1, 2/2, and 1/1 sash windows in an altered opening, all under a stone segmental arch. On the right side of the building, there are two blind openings on the ground and first floors, with a 20th-century two-light casement window above, all framed by stone segmental arches. The rear wing includes 19th-century one-, two-, and three-light casements, with an entrance to the left that has a 20th-century door set in a 19th-century case, complete with screens, overlights, and a hood on brackets. To the right, there are two 19th-century cross-windows. The right side of the building is roughcast. Inside, there is a stop-moulded ceiling frame, a stone fireplace, and a staircase.
