Description
The late 18th and early 19th century houses at 14 and 15 Bridge Street are stucco-faced, with Welsh slate roofing to the left and composite tiles to the right. They have two brick end stacks. The two-storey and attic building has a three-window front. The right-hand window is a tripartite sash with 2/2 panes to the outer lights and 6/6 panes to the centre light. A late 19th-century sash window with 3/3 panes is set in a moulded case, centrally located beneath a gable. There is a late 19th-century canted bay window with plain sashes and moulded eaves, and a round-headed sash window with 3/6 panes, also in a moulded case. A moulded and modillioned eaves cornice runs along the top of the building.
The central entrances are flanked by windows. The right-hand entrance (to No.14) features a 19th-century six-panel door and a plain overlight, set within panelled reveals, and protected by a simple moulded wooden hood supported on consoles and panelled pilasters. To the left, there is a late 19th-century four-fielded-panel door with overlight incorporating coloured leaded lights, also in panelled reveals, alongside a late 19th-century shopfront with central glazed double doors flanked by windows with turned glazing shafts. A moulded fascia board and modillioned hood with scrolled consoles feature above the shop front. The right-hand side has rusticated stucco with a storey band.
