Description

This milestone, located about 4130 metres east-south-east of the Church of St Mary, dates from around 1840. It is made of painted cast iron and has a triangular shape with a raked top. The pedestal is smaller than the top and features cavetto corners. The edges of the inscription panels are raised. The top of the milestone reads "CLIFFORD/ PARISH". The left side indicates "TO/ HAY/ 4/ MILES", while the right side states "TO/ PETERCHH/ 5/ MILES". The name of the founder on the pedestal is illegible.
