Description

Milestone located in Byford, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of painted cast iron and has a triangular shape with a canted top. The front features an inscription in relief that reads "BYFORD/ PARISH". The left side indicates "TO/ HEREFORD/ 7/ MILES", while the right side states "TO/ HAY/ 13/ MILES". There is an illegible maker's name on the right side of the base.
