Description
Bridge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with extensions added in the late 18th century and some alterations from the mid-19th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill set on a rubble plinth, topped with an asbestos slate roof. The building has a T-plan layout, with a cross-wing aligned north-west to south-east and another range to the north-east.
On the north-west front, the cross-wing to the right is rendered and has two storeys, featuring a 2-light casement window under a plank weathering on each floor. The range to the left is one storey with an attic, which is lit by a dormer with a lean-to roof. The ground floor has three windows: a 3-light casement to the left, and 2-light casements in the centre and to the right. The entrance, located to the right of centre, is sheltered by a shallow gabled canopy.
The framing consists of three square panels high, with slightly curved angle braces. The north gable truss includes two raking struts, a collar, and V-struts in the apex. Inside, there are some exposed chamfered and stopped ceiling beams.
