Description
The Stables at Garnons is an early 19th-century stable court designed by William Atkinson, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and features hipped stone tile roofs, forming a U-plan layout. The main elevation facing the courtyard is two storeys high, with a central three-storey tower that has a plain parapet and a circular recess for a clock, flanked by two lancet windows. The first floor includes a configuration of two windows, one window, and then two more windows, with 9-pane sash windows, except for the central window which has 16 panes. The ground floor consists of five coach houses, each with segmentally headed double doors. The left-hand range provides accommodation, while the right-hand range is designated for workshops.
