Description

The building is a parish church, now a house, dating back to the 12th century. It was extended in the 14th century and 1824, with substantial rebuilding occurring in 1877 and later alterations in the late 20th century. The church is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, covered by a graduated stone tile roof. The west tower, of 1824, features a crenellated parapet and a pointed window on each of its two stages, accented by stepped diagonal buttresses.

The main body of the church, or nave, has two bays. Its south wall contains a two-light trefoiled window to the east, and a 12th-century south door with a semi-circular head adorned with roll moulding and a label enriched with billet ornament. A 14th-century timber-framed porch stands to the south, with curved braces, cusped struts, and cusped bargeboards framing the archway. The 14th-century south transept features a three-light window with a three-centred head. The north transept is from the 19th century. The chancel has a late 20th-century window of five trefoiled lights in timber, and the east window is from the 19th century, featuring three trefoiled lights and a label with head stops.

Inside, the 19th-century chancel arch is two-centred. The chancel roof retains its original 14th-century common rafter structure. The nave roof features 19th-century arch-braced tie-beams with raking struts. A tapering slab with an elaborate incised cross is set against the north wall of the chancel. A small, late 20th-century west gallery has been added.
