Description

Milestone located about 120 metres north-east of the Church of St Peter, dated 1840. It is made of painted cast iron and has a triangular plan with a raked top. The pedestal is smaller than the top and features cavetto corners. There are raised edges around the inscription panels. The top of the milestone reads "PETERCHURCH/ PARISH". The left side indicates "To/ HEREFORD/ 12/ MILES", while the right side states "To/ (HAY/ 9) MILE", with the letters in brackets painted on. The founder's name on the pedestal is largely illegible, but the date 1840 is visible.
