Description
Eastview is a house that likely dates from the second half of the 16th century, with additions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of timber framing with plastered infill, set on a high painted rubble plinth, and has a slate roof. The house features a two-room plan and has a 20th-century lean-to extension at the rear. There is a rubble stack in the west gable and a brick stack in the east gable.
The building stands two storeys tall and has two windows on the front: a two-light casement on the left and a 9-pane fixed casement on the right. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light 19th-century casements to the left of the entrance, which is topped with a raked roof supported by cast iron columns and has brick jambs for the door. The framing is close-studded on the first floor at the front and rear elevations. It is likely that the ground floor and the entire east gable were originally framed, although the east gable has been refaced in the 19th century. The west gable may have always been made of rubble and includes an integral stack.
