Description
This cottage, located about 70 yards south of the Court House, likely dates from the late 17th or 18th century and has undergone later alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and brick, featuring timber-framing with brick infill, and has a corrugated iron roof. The building has a sandstone and brick end stack and a rectangular plan, probably consisting of three bays, oriented roughly north to south. It is two storeys tall.
The west elevation displays three windows, which are 2-light late 20th century casements. The ground floor has two similar windows and a roughly central entry that is sheltered by a gabled mid-20th century porch. The south elevation appears to have been rebuilt or clad in late 20th century brick. The timber frame consists of four roughly square panels, extending from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, the cottage features heavy chamfered ceiling beams with straight-cut stops.
