Description
The Green is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century, with some later alterations. It features a timber frame with weatherboards and brick and plaster infill set on a sandstone rubble base. The roof is thatched and has a sandstone chimney stack. The building has three to four structural bays oriented west-south-west to east-north-east and consists of one storey with an attic.
On the south elevation, there are two windows with 2-light late 20th century glazing bar casements located in eyebrow dormers. The ground floor has two similar windows and an additional three-light window to the right of a thatched glazed late 20th century porch. The rear elevation is partly weatherboarded. The timber frame consists of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, above which the roof is raised. There are angle struts connecting the central wall post to the plate. The interior is noted for its timber-framed cross-walls and heavy ceiling beams.
