Description
This cow shelter, located about 25 yards south-west of Lower Buckenhill Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is built from coursed sandstone rubble and features a hipped pantile roof. The structure is in an L-plan shape, enclosing a farmyard with one arm extending to the north-east and the other to the south-east. The south-west elevation, which is at a right angle to the road, has two shuttered openings to the right of a doorway located near the junction of the two arms. The elevation facing the road does not have any openings. Inside, there are raking strut trusses with tie-beams supported by square posts towards the farmyard. This building is included for its group value.
