Description
Lower Buckenhill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated "1592" on a sunk oak panel at the front facing the road. It features a timber-frame construction with brick and plaster infill, topped by a tiled roof and central brick ridge stacks. The building has a T-plan layout, oriented roughly north, and consists of two storeys and attics.
On the north elevation, which faces the road, there are two windows with 2-light late 19th century casements: one on the left side of the first floor and one on the right side of the ground floor, with an additional window left of centre on the ground floor. There is also a 19th century iron mullioned opening to the extreme left of the ground floor, and the entry is located at the rear. The east elevation features three 19th century lancet windows. The timber frame is substantial, consisting of four square panels from the cill to the wall-plate.
