SOLLERS HOPE CP - SO 63 SW 2/58 Court Farmhouse 18.5.53 GV II

Farmhouse. C16 with C17 additions, further altered during mid- to late C19, minor C20 alterations. Timber-framed with brick nogging. Sandstone rubble later additions and refacing. Tiled and Welsh slate roofs; brick shafts to stacks. Earlier house aligned north/south with two lateral stacks to east; C17 addition to west side obscured by later alterations aligned north/south and parallel to earlier house. Two storeys. South front: timber-framed gable end of earlier house to right with jettied upper storey supported on moulded bressummer; 3-light C20 window. One 24-pane glazing bar sash window to stone gable end of later addition to left. Entrance to west. Framing: close-studding to ground floor, decorative herring-bone framing to upper floor. East side: decorative stack to north with two octagonal shafts with trefoil-headed panels and bases. Similar south stack with rebuilt rectangu- lar shafts. Interior not inspected but believed to be of interest. (RCHM Vol II, p 169-170).
