Description
Lyndalls is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century or early 19th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill and a sandstone plinth, featuring a roof that is partly covered with Welsh slate and partly with stone slate. The building has four framed bays arranged in a north-east to south-west direction, with a large main axial stack and additional end stacks. There is a probable through-passage that is now obscured by later alterations. An 18th or early 19th-century wing extends to the north-west from the north-east end, and the structure is single storey with an attic.
On the south-east front, there are two dormer windows, each with leaded 2- and 3-light casements, and the ground floor has scattered fenestration, including a 2-light leaded casement and three 20th-century windows to the left. To the right, there is a canted bay next to an unusual hipped-roofed porch with a ledged door. The main stack features three conjoined shafts. The framing consists of three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with V-struts in the gables. The interior has not been inspected.
