Description
Upper Buckenhill Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The building features a timber frame with plaster infill, which has been largely covered in brick and sandstone rubble. It has a hipped slate roof and a stone external stack with a brick shaft. The layout is staggered and rectangular, with one arm extending to the south-west and another to the south-east.
The farmhouse is two storeys high. The south-west elevation facing the road has a symmetrical arrangement of windows, with two sets of two late 19th century and early 20th century casements. There is an entrance located to the centre left, which consists of a four-panelled late 19th century door beneath a cambered hood, positioned at the top of double lateral steps. The rear of the building displays exposed timber-framing, which consists of four panels high from the cill to the wall-plate.
