Description
The Post Office is a former lodge to Brockhampton Court, now serving as a post office. It was built in the late 19th century and features a combination of brick with surface timberwork and a sandstone rubble plinth, topped with a tiled roof. Designed in the Jacobean style, the building has an L-shaped plan with the entrance located at the angle of the L. It includes an axial stack with three decorative shafts. The structure is a single storey with an attic that slightly projects and has a coved soffit. The ground floor boasts 4-light mullioned and transomed windows with latticed leading to casements on the gable ends, along with one 2-light mullioned window on the north gable and a pair of single-light windows on the west gable. There is also a lean-to porch situated in the angle of the building.
