Description

This listing describes a group of three cow houses and a linking shelter shed located approximately 30 meters northeast of Court Farmhouse, built around 1860, possibly by Benjamin Bucknall. The structures are constructed from coursed rubble limestone and feature roofs made of stone slate and plain tiles.

The layout includes a long cow house on the east and west sides of a yard, with a shelter shed on the north side. There is also a smaller cow house set back to the east. The west range has a central segmental arched doorway, with single-light casements on either side, positioned well apart. The east range features three segmental arched doorways and two window openings towards the center.

The south-facing shelter shed has eight bays and is supported by rusticated tapering circular stone piers. The smaller cow house to the east has a central doorway flanked by two stone-mullioned cross windows, along with an additional doorway to the right and a loft hole in the gable end. This group of buildings is part of a larger context that includes Court Farmhouse.
