Cow House And Adjoining Shelter Sheds Souoth-West Of Langstone Court

The cow house and adjoining shelter sheds, located south-west of Langstone Court, date back to the 18th century. They are constructed from sandstone rubble, with a slate roof on the cow house and pantiles on the shelter sheds. The cow house is oriented north to south and features a north gable entry, along with additional doorways on the sides. The shelter sheds are attached to the east, creating an L-shaped enclosure that extends to the north for the foldyard.

The cow house has three bays and is two storeys high, with two rows of irregularly placed loops on the sides. The north gable end includes a squared-headed doorway flanked by two similar windows, along with a central window on the first floor and a circular owl hole in the gable. The structure is supported by inclined strut trusses. The adjoining shelter sheds consist of four and eight bays that were originally open-fronted throughout, although the southern four bays are now partially blocked and feature drum piers.
