Description
This cow shelter, located about 70 yards north-north-east of Court Farmhouse, likely dates from the late 18th century. It features sandstone rubble walls at the rear and west gable, with brick piers at the front and a plain tiled roof. The structure consists of seven bays arranged roughly east to west. The front and south-east corner have square piers, with weatherboarding infilling the first and third bays from the left. Inside, there is a wooden trough at the rear and a complete set of trusses with raking struts that are pegged to the ties and rafters. This cow shelter serves as an enclosing feature for the farmyard of Court Farmhouse and the nearby barn, and it is included for its group value.
