Description
Brook Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th to 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure, mostly four panels high, with slate roofs that are hipped on the main central part. The farmhouse has local stone external stacks on the north-west and south-east sides. The layout resembles a T shape, consisting of a two-bay 17th-century center block with a large mid-19th-century lean-to on the left side that encloses a side stack. To the right, there is a two-bay gabled projecting cross-wing with a lean-to across the ground floor of the inner return and a side stack on the right flank. At the rear of the right-hand stack, there is a three-bay 18th-century wing. The building is two storeys high.
On the south-west elevation, there are two sets of windows: the left block has 19th-century casements, with one on the ground floor next to a forward projecting range of three lights and two on the first floor. The projecting gable front to the right features three-light casements, with a mid-20th-century window on the ground floor and late 19th-century windows on the first floor. The entrance is located in the late 19th-century lean-to on the left side of the front projecting range.
