Description
Ivy Cottage is a building that was likely constructed in the late 17th century. Originally two cottages, it has been converted into a single house. The structure features a timber frame with brick infill and an asbestos slate roof. It has a rendered stone local type end stack on the west gable, which includes a detached brick shaft. The building is L-shaped, with a small cross-wing to the east and the main range oriented roughly east to west. It is one storey high with an attic and consists of three bays.
On the south elevation, there is a late 19th-century casement window to the left, followed by two mid-19th-century casement windows with six panes to the right. The centre features two 19th-century doors beneath canopies; the left door is ledged, while the right door is six-panelled. Additionally, there are two early 20th-century dormers that are joined. The frame generally consists of three panels from the cill to the wall-plate, and the west gable is rendered.
