Description
The Old School House is a building that was likely constructed in the 17th century. Originally a school, it has now been converted into a house. The structure features a base made of sandstone rubble, with a timber frame that includes brick and plaster infill, and is topped with thatched roofs. There is an external brick chimney stack on the east side. The building has a rectangular three-bay plan that runs roughly east to west, with a 17th-century lean-to addition covering the two eastern bays on the north side. It stands two storeys tall.
On the south elevation, the ground floor has been replaced with brick, and there are four windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor, featuring 19th and 20th-century casements. To the right of the center, there is a gabled porch added in the 20th century. The timber frame consists of two panels high on the south side and four panels on the west gable.
